Many of us have struggled with the large Canada Goose flocks that have visited the lake this summer. Although there are no quick fixes, the state DNR has posted some suggestions to dealing with this problem:

Several years ago, the Lake Association purchased Milfoil Weevils to control the lake’s Eurasion Milfoil invasion. These weevils provide an environmentally-safe alternative to herbicides. They’ve done a great job, but we need your help guarding the weevils! They are very small (.08 to .12 inch long), so most people don’t see them. Please be careful not to burn leaves near the shore, and to leave some vegetation at the shoreline for habitat.
