The Matteson Lake Association’s Fish Committee promotes a healthy and active environment for anglers on the lake. Using input from residents, we meet regularly to consider improvements that can be made for the enjoyment of the fishing community. Each year, the committee seeks to stock the lake with desired species. Working with area hatcheries and the State DNR, we work to maintain a plentiful supply of fish for all to enjoy. If you love fishing and would like to have input on the types of fish we have in Matteson Lake, please consider joining the Fish Committee. Historical fish stocking records for Matteson Lake. Creel Survey In order to determing anglers’ preferences and actual fish caught from the Lake, we have added a Creel Survey to the Matteson Lake website. A Creel Survey is a questionnaire seeking input on your fishing experience, including species targeted and caught. This will help us determine the need for future fish plants and fish habitat improvements. Please consider filling out the survey here. It can be filled out once per fishing outing. Historical Maps One of our former residents, Jim Konrad, has provided historical maps detailing areas of success catching fish in Matteson Lake. Click on the maps below to view enlarged images. Note that these maps were created some time ago and may not reflect the current fishing environment.
